Alpine’s Pierre Gasly will reach a personal landmark as he prepares to celebrate his 150th career start in F1 at the 2024 Sao Paulo Grand Prix.
In doing so, the 28-year-old joins his Alpine team mate Esteban Ocon – who also reached the same milestone earlier this season in Baku – in achieving the tally in 2024 with the French squad.
To mark the pair’s achievements, F1 are giving away a pair of Ocon and Gasly’s boots from their respective 150th Grand Prix starts, which you can enter here.

Gasly’s journey to 150 starts has seen him enjoy plenty of success over the years, after he earned his Formula 1 debut with Toro Rosso at the 2017 Malaysian Grand Prix. His strong performances at the end of that year secured him a full-time seat for the following season and, in 2019, he achieved his first F1 podium, finishing an impressive second at Interlagos.
In 2020, he delivered a stunning victory at the Italian Grand Prix in Monza, driving for AlphaTauri. This win made him the first French driver to triumph in Formula 1 since Olivier Panis at Monaco in 1996 and has lived long in the memory for many fans. While Gasly was unable to celebrate with a passionate Monza crowd due to Covid restrictions at the time, he did receive a congratulatory call from French President Emmanuel Macron.
After five successful years as a Red Bull-contracted driver, he moved to Alpine in 2023 where he teamed up with fellow Frenchman Ocon, who he has known since their karting days.
Ocon has also enjoyed plenty of success with Alpine after signing for the then-named Renault squad in 2020. The highlight was undoubtedly his victory at the 2021 Hungarian Grand Prix, with then team mate Fernando Alonso playing his part by holding up traffic to allow Ocon to triumph. When Ocon crossed the line in P1 after 70 frantic laps, it was a joyous moment for the whole of the team.

He reached his 150th F1 start at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix this year, and will move on to Haas following the conclusion of this season after five years racing for the Enstone squad. Gasly’s future continues to lie with Alpine after he signed a multi-year extension with the team back in June.
With plenty of F1 races still to come in their respective F1 careers, who knows what other success stories could lie in Gasly and Ocon’s futures…
